Hit and Run Driver Kills Cyclist in Houston

The body of an unidentified man was found the morning of January 20th in Brays Bayou in Houston. He had apparently been struck by a hit and run driver, which sent him into the bayou.

This man is, unfortunately, one of three cyclists to be killed in hit-and-run accidents in Houston in just the past 45 days, according to the Houston Chronicle. Many people are outraged by these incidents, demanding that the city do more to protect its cyclists.

Those who have lost a loved one, or been injured, because of these types of incidents can speak to a Houston personal injury lawyer to determine how they can begin to recover. No legal action will bring back a loved one, but it is possible to at least receive compensation to cover expenses.

Even when the accident is caused by a hit-and-run driver, it is still possible for you to take legal action in situations such as these. For example, if there were not reasonable safety features in places, such as proper lighting or bike lanes, it may be possible to take legal action against the city.

A Houston personal injury lawyer can work with you to determine what legal options are available to you. Having a loved one killed by a hit-and-run driver can understandably feel like the end of the world. That does not mean that there are no actions that you can take to make a difference in your life, and the lives of others.

Your Houston personal injury lawyer can help you receive justice for your family, and for other people who have and will be impacted by similar accidents. This can be a very confusing and complicated process, but a lawyer can help make things clearer.
