Daniel grew up on a farm in Clay County, Mississippi where his family raised cows and grew corn, cotton, and soybeans.

Daniel is married to Erika, a school nurse. Daniel and Erika currently have two children Harper and Grafe. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his family, being outdoors, and being in the gym.

Education and Experience

Daniel played football while attending Mississippi College and majoring in Political Science. Upon graduation, Daniel attended Mississippi College School of Law where he continued to play football through his second year of law school. He successfully petitioned the NCAA to allow him an extra year of eligibility to finish his football career at Mississippi College.

Upon graduation from Mississippi College School of Law, Daniel hung his own shingle in Starkville, Mississippi focusing on personal injury, employment, and civil rights litigation. In 2012 Daniel moved to Hattiesburg and joined a firm while continuing his focus on helping injured Plaintiffs.

In 2014 he left the firm and became a partner in Johnson, Ratliff & Waide PLLC where he continued his focus on helping individuals who have been injured and wronged by others. He has successfully represented individuals and families, even obtaining the only punitive damages jury verdict in Lamar County over the past 20 years.

Daniel has been named a SuperLawyers Rising Star.

Daniel is an active member of the Mississippi Bar and serves on the Labor and Employment Section Executive Committee. Daniel is a member of the Hattiesburg SERTOMA club and is an active member of Venture Church.
