Grandfather Charged in Boy’s Death

A 53-year-old man whose grandson died when the man crashed his vehicle into a pole has now been charged with intoxication manslaughter, according to KHOU News.

He was taken into police custody after he failed a field sobriety test. The family received a double blow, after the death of their child and the fact that his grandfather allegedly killed him. They can contact a Dallas personal injury lawyer to receive compensation, although it can never make up for the loss of their child.

Police had been dispatched to Dallas County to investigate reports of a pickup truck careening into a pole. The young passenger was immediately taken to the Children’s Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

At the scene, the grandfather told the police that he was simply taking his young grandson down the street a little ways from his house. He told police that he lost control of his pickup truck around a curve because of sand and rocks on the road. The family may call Kirkendall Dwyer LLP after the loss of their grandson.

The mother of the deceased boy said that he liked to ride in his grandfather’s truck. She does not blame her father in this wreck. The family is tight, but that does not mean that the mental anguish cannot lead a family member to seek help from a Dallas personal injury lawyer, after such a sincere loss.

The grandfather told police officers at the scene that he had consumed six beers, and then he did fail the field sobriety test. The official results of his voluntary blood exam haven’t yet been finalized. He is held at the jail in Dallas County on a $50,000 bond. He does have a past record. The grief-stricken family may opt to contact a Dallas personal injury lawyer to help them through this time.
